Key word “Pull out”
According to Our Favorite Online doctor :
Nobody’s Pull-Out Game is lit.
It is a lie and a fraud.
Most men are simply lucky. Or infertile.
What is called “PullOut” has a failure rate of 27%. So if 100 women do it for a year, 27 will get pregnant.
You can still get pregnant.
Even if he pulls out.
Don’t play yourself.
What really happens is that most men are simply lucky or actually infertile
But they think their “pull-out” game is “lit”. Nah. It’s most likely that the woman is not ovulating at that time (so no eggs), or their semen is useless (so no point).
Pull Out is very very unreliable.
What we popularly term here as “pull-out” is medically called Coitus Interruptus (or Withdrawal) method of contraception. As I said earlier, failure rate can be up to 27% for this method. Which means if 100 women depend only on the pull-out method, 27 of them will get pregnant.
If you have had an unplanned or planned unprotected sex, and you don’t want to get pregnant, it’s better to use emergency contraception- Postinor2.It has to be used within 72 hours for maximal effectiveness. And if taken within 24 hours, it will prevent 95% of pregnancies.
Postinor2 does NOT cause an abortion.
I need to clarify.
It PREVENTS a pregnancy from happening in the first place. That’s how it works. Some people stay away from it because they assume it causes an abortion.
No, it does not.
It only prevents pregnancy.
I hope you understand.
How do you take it?
Some of them come as a one pill type, some come as two tablets.
If one pill, take it as soon as the sex is over. The earlier the better.
If two pills, take one and then the other 12 hours after. Both tablets must be within 24hours for maximum effectiveness.Should you take Postinor2 regularly?
A capital NO.
It is ONLY for emergencies.
NEVER use it regularly.
Infact, do NOT use it twice in one month or twice in one menstrual cycle.
It can really upset your menstrual cycle and you start seeing your periods in an haphazard manner.
Finally, if you find yourself using Postinor frequently, then you should consider a more reliable regular contraception option.
Regular condom use.
Contraceptive pills.
Injectables.
Coils/IUCD.
Implants.
There’s lots of them.
Speak with your doctor/nurse and they will sort it.
And even the regular contraceptive options can fail. But in VERY FEW cases. Almost all of them are over 95% effective. Some are even 99% effective.
Compare that to a PullOut method that is barely 73% effective. The difference is clear and the margin is too far.
Pls be wise o.
That’s because there’s something called PreCum – which is a fluid that comes from the penis during sex just before the actual ejaculation.
And many researchers believe this PreCum may contain sperm which will get a woman pregnant. And it would have gone in BEFORE a “pull out”.
And that’s even apart from the fact that some people even lie. Half of the ejaculation would have gone in and it’s only half that was “pulled out”.
So that PullOut method is just too confusing, cumbersome, unreliable and risky for a person not planning for pregnancy to rely on.
Don’t let someone scam you with
“My game is lit, just trust me”
When the baby comes, they will unfollow you and your number will go to voicemail.
Please kindly take control of your body and your choices. Thanks 🙏🏿
“But 27% failure rate isn’t bad”
It is bad. Compared to other contraception options.Because the higher the number, the more worrisome the failure rate.27 failures in 100 doesn’t look bad.But 270 in 1000? 2,700 in 10,000? And 270,000 in 1,000,000? Lol. Then you see it’s bad.
It’s easy to assume “it’s not so bad” when you are just looking at numbers naively. But when you realise that for every woman it fails, it’s an 100% failure for her, then you have a rethink. And like I said, as you multiply the numbers, the failures get magnified. So it’s a NO. There’s NO medical professional worth his or her onion in the world that would ever recommend PullOut or even encourage it by any means.
Especially for people who are
1. Sexually active
2. Not looking for a baby.
It’s medically TOO RISKY considering all the options out there..
Okay, there’s been a lot of issues with the mathematics and how 73% is still a good number, that it is not “fraud”. And it’s basically a “success” even if it were a school work. Alright let me explain a bit more into my reasoning behind what I said and my choice of words.
First things first.
It is a non sequitur argument to compare school work to contraception success rates. They are two different things and we really shouldn’t be comparing them.
In school, even 50% is a “pass”. It’s okay.
In medical practice, for contraception, our aim is 100%.
An ideal contraceptive is any method that is 100% effective. And that’s why almost all the reliable contraceptive options are 95-99% effective.
Because the target is 100%, the further away from that target, the more unreliable a method is.
And so at 73%, “PullOut” is horrible.
And it is in this particular context that I have called it a FRAUD and a LIE.
It is this ignorant mindset that I’m addressing as a fraud and a lie.
I hope you get it.
Obviously IF you focus on the numbers alone, without considering any context whatsoever, 73% success sounds great.
But if there are contraceptive options that are even as high as 99%, and our target is 100% effective, then PullOut is an abysmal failure in that particular regard.
My point is that in the context of other contraceptives, in the context of misguided ignorant beliefs that PullOut never fails; it is fraud to rely on a method that fails at least 1 in 4 women.
And the reason why it is important to put this out there is because we live in a country that has criminalised abortions where women have to either have unplanned babies or get unsafe abortions.
It’s BETTER to be sure of what you are doing and not rely on something like PullOut..
I hope this little addendum explains the reasoning behind the tweets and hopefully answers some of many questions that has arisen from the tweet.
Anyway, regardless of where we all stand, if this has made you read/research more on PullOut method, I’m personally happy. Thanks.
We’ll be needing other medics to confirm kings and queens. Leemaoo
