When news broke last week that Afrobeat artist Burna Boy had worked on a number of songs intended for More Lifethat Drake decided not to release, some fans were angered. They thought that Drake had just used Burna Boy to get more comfortable with his pop-ready Afrobeat style. But it didn’t seem to bother Burna Boy much, who will releas his project Outside later in the week. One of the most appealing songs from the project is “Ye,” which features some exciting Burna Boy vocal work. The warmth of the production instantly grasps you and, after the huge spring and summer Afrobeat had last year, Burna Boy’s tune—and stunningly original artwork—is ready to make it two in a row.
