Most of his major label release have gone platinum, Kendrick Lamar‘s not necessarily thought of as a crossover superstar. That won’t be the case much longer, though. On Thursday (July 6), Forbes revealed Kendrick’s newest album DAMN. is the highest-selling album of 2017 so far.
According to the site, his newest project has moved an astonishing 1.77 million album equivalent units—a measurement that takes into account physical album sales and streams from music streaming services—since it was released back in April. It hasn’t even been out for three full months yet.
DAMN. is an album filled to the brim with diverse production, dynamic flows and hard-hitting lyrics from the rapoer . With its visceral, emotional songs, it’s no wonder it’s sold so damn much. Can’t say we’re too surprised, but moving close to two million copies in three months is a huge deal. Salute to King Kendrick.
